Habitat Conservation Project
Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory

Fuller Native and Rare Plants supports local habitat conservation and donates a percentage of our plant sales to the work of Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory (PEPtBO).

Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory is a volunteer-run, research station located at the farthest tip of Prince Edward County.
As a member of the Canadian Migration Monitoring Network PEPtBO

  • Bands 10,000+ birds every spring and fall
  • Presents educational programs and public events such as the Spring Birding Festival each May
  • Gathers data that help identify long term trends of bird populations and Canadian ecosystems
  • Acts as caretaker for the P.E.C. South Shore Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (a globally significant region for migrating birds) and is an advocate for the protection of this habitat
  • Provides volunteer opportunities and hosts one of Ontario's most exciting birding hotspots (interesting plant communities, too!)
